About Climate Science Storytelling

Here, you will find:

tales of abundance & scarcity,

narratives of healing & loss,

wisdom, knowledge, science,

relief, restoration, relationships,

hope.

Every story told in this era takes place in the backdrop of climate change. It’s there in all of our waking moments.

And so today I am pleased to announced the launch of my new Climate Science Storytelling website.

The purpose of Climate Storytelling is to identify the thread that is woven into all of our stories and celebrate those working to change our relationship to the Earth.

I created this site in order to reach the communities who have nourished me across the world and those that inspire me.

For that reason, Climate Storytelling is intended to be an adaptive, mobile library. Much like a garden, it will change seasonally to meet the needs of its tenders and vice versa.

I seek to collaborate with folks navigating and creating in the face of the climate crisis.

Collaborations may take place as interviews, co-written stories, art, podcasts, videos, performance, zines, music, poetry or speculative fiction pieces.

Much like the future, my vision is fluid & open-ended.

About the Stories

Like most people, I am drawn to stories that are

funny, scary, joyous,

riveting, silly,

heroic, embarrassing, dramatic.

These feelings appear to conflict, but the climate crisis is a time of contradictions. If I’ve learned anything about crisis, many of us experience it with tears in our eyes while laughing our butts off. And so I seek stories that reflect that reality.

Values

The responsibilities of assuming the role of a storyteller are not lost on me.

As an independent journalist, I seek to craft stories with care for my interviewees, respecting them as partners and privileging their right to express their stories in ways that are appropriate, honorable and authentic as they define.

I seek to actively recognize my inherent biases and value the safety of my interviewees above meaningless attention-getting ploys. Rather than extractive interviews, I am seeking relationships based on mutual reciprocity.

About Me

I’m a comedian, storyteller and journalist. In order to move forward with my calling, I feel that my work must center the realities of the climate crisis. This is also an effort to merge my passion for storytelling with my core values around land stewardship, community power and science. You can learn more about my background here.

I don’t spam. I tell stories.
